JOBS - Alice Robinson

Alice Robinson
GD 300 – Wilber

JOB LIST
• Bed Bath Beyond Intern – (2 months)
I worked under my mother who is head designer of BBB.
I didn’t hate it, mild amusement-quite boring, mostly categorized pantone swatches.
I was paid $80 a week for about 6 hours a day (Monday-Friday)
3 objects: pantone colors, quietness, and flamboyant people.
There was no one really around but when there was there was a man, I forget his name, but he kept me company and entertained me with gossip around the office.

• Viccino’s Pizza Cashier – (8 months)
I absolutely hated this job.
I made about $160 every two weeks for 8 months
3 objects: Pizza smell, anger & drama, and black marble table tops.
I can tell you who I didn’t hate- one delivery guy who made fun of everyone working there, the only one who didn’t seem to live in a TV soap opera.

• Claire’s Accessories Manager
– (2 ½ years)
I was paid about $160 every two weeks or so.
There were always fun people there, but there was on girl who used to talk down to me because I was younger than her but technically her superior. I think she didn’t like that- the only downside of that job.

• PURPLEDOWN Manager (2009-current)
This is just a website I created to store my art and photography, people will contact me for work when they come across PD.
I like it because many interesting people will contact me where we are able to do collabs.
Downside is that many people want you to work for free, which is kind of ridiculous!

• Etsy.com Store Manager – (2011-current)
Average income is around 300-700 a month.
I work the hours I want and I’m making more money than I have any other job, but it depends on when I’m able to update it and make more stock.
There are no downsides to this job!

• oDesk Contractor – (2013-current)
This job comes with creative people who are awesome, and then there are those who will screw you over and steal your ideas and art. You really need to watch out for those people, other than that its an all right job.
Pay only depends on when someone finds you or you apply to get a job done.
Bad memory: Someone made me create around 15 designs to see if she liked my art and then stole them.

WORST JOB: Viccino’s
BEST JOB: ETSY Store Manager
