Christian Solorzano Critique Identity

My identity project is centered around what a teacher in elementary school thought me. During the class we had to do a report on the different types of ways to be a "healthy" person. I never gave this much thought until about junior high and high school. All the people who looked like their had most of their life under control and who appeared to be the most happy, ended up going on a decline. The people who seemed to have it all, ended up going to jail and getting pregnant and making bad choices. Eventually, I remembered what my teacher taught me and I made it a point to look this up more.

So for this project, I'm focusing on what my teacher taught me. I don't like being too literal in this project, I want the project to be open to interpretation but I still want to get my message across. Initially I had planned to make a silhouette of a person from head to toe and use colors and gradients to emphasize different departments of life.

Then eventually I got an idea to go into the extreme and trace a photo of St.Peter and use his image as the center of my project. I'm still working on this so this is still in rough draft mode. I chose to make one large poster instead of a series but I was also thinking of possibly branching this idea into several individual pieces.

I didn't want to give my person in my design an identity because I felt like if you do that, you're in a way taking a male or female approach so instead I just went with a neutral figure while still making it clear that it is a "Saint".

I included the words, spiritual, physical, emotional, mental and environmental  because these are my centered topics. I placed the words along the image to highlight what I'm referring too.

My plans for this are to, give the project more detail and maybe, make several posters instead of one.
