Identity Reflection + Idea drafts

1. My family is African American with some Cherokee Native American coming in from my mother's father side. But there is some German in me somewhere as my ancestors were owned by them.

2. My mom is baptist and I don't think my family has a solid religion they cling too.

3. Birthday's, Christmas, Mother's/Father's day, all other national holidays.

4. I don't see myself as identifying with one particular thing. I just am.

5. At some point mostly everyone in my family has been a victim of some racial slur or discrimination.

6. I think I could identify myself by the music I listen too. Its very eclectic and I feel that says a lot about me as a person that I could be into as many different kinds of music that  I am.

7. I have all kinds of friends from all kinds of places. I don't let what they believe or do bother me as long as it literally doesn't bother me in any way.

8. I think for this project I am going to use myself as a paper doll and have interchanging clothes on either side of me. It would be the clothes I wanted to wear for myself versus the clothes my mom or grandmother bought for me.

This is the kind of style I'm looking to do. A sort of integrative approach comparing what I like and what my family wants me to like.
