P. Brown Project 2
I am Irish, from my dad's side, and also Scottish, Dutch, Lithuanian, and English from my mom's side. I have no religious affiliation. However, the majority of my family on both sides are catholic. We celebrated the major holidays, i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. But, Christmas for us was more about embracing family and friends, and giving gifts. The only culture I've known long enough to make a statement about personal identification with is that of North American culture. However, if I were to say I prefer a certain region's culture, as it were, I'd have to say that western Europe, possibly Spain, France, or the UK, would be the culture that I would feel most content in. Nobody in my family has ever been victimized because of race. I guess that I have friends who cross ethnic barriers, but I'm not a person that does that--I am a white hetero male. I really have no clue where I'm going to go with this project, as, clearly, none of the previous sentences have any situations of tension.
