Project Us vs. Them maher gharib

Project Us vs. Them

My ethnicity from my father and mother side is Middle Eastern. I am first generation American. Both my parents are Palestinian descendants. My religious affiliation is Islam and runs back as far as I know. One of the pillars of Islam is to fast in the month of Ramadan, once a year.  There are two Eids that are celebrated, at the end of Ramadan and at the last ten days of Hajj (Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca). Muharram marks the beginning of Islams new year. Mawlid al-Nabi is Prophet Muhammad's birthday. As a Muslim, I do get harassed as does my family since Islam is big in the media and does not seem to be leaving the media any time soon. I don't let that get to me as I am a proud Muslim and follow my religion with an iron fist. People think im strange for who I am, but I like to think that being a stranger is better than being an imposter.
