University Advertising Campaign:
The University of San Francisco – The main thing that
attracts me to this campaign they did was the fact that their signs are
relative to either the sight of the advertisement (conscious of where the ad
is) or they are playful and relatable unlike most university campaigns which
tend to just speak about the school and not about a more relatable experience
or targeting the student. Hub Strategy produced the campaign.
The University of Bristol – I despise QR-Codes, they are ugly
and seemed to disregard the rest of the design and never really give a reason
to use them. Which is why I like this advertisement from the University of
Bristol. The QR-Code itself is used in tandem with an iconic visual of the
area. By keeping the majority of the information behind the QR-Code it actually
encourages people to actually use the QR-Code. The design was made by David
Alder.

Vinyl Signs:
All places that are available for doing large-scale vinyl
signs require a document for price quoting. I did look at them and try getting
a pricing but have not been able to get a pricing.
Approach:With the size of the wall and the space available I think
that there is a better use of the wall than using a vinyl sign for
advertisement. Vinyl sign advertisements just exist everywhere in the loop and
give off a feeling of mechanical and systematic, trying to buy someone’s
attention. A warmer more exciting approach to advertising the CDM specifically
would be by painting a mural style advertisement on the wall. The CDM is an
exciting college to be a part of because of the studies it houses and the
creative people inside deserve to have an advertisement that better represents
the CDM as a whole. I believe that this can best be showcased by painting the
wall.
