I originally wanted to do a flag, I was going to to choose the american flag, but after the critique, the group agreed, I should change it to the Chicago flag. That idea just wasn't speaking to me. I wanted something that you don't see very often around the city. My mind focus on the stars. I have live in this city for so long, and the one thing I miss, is the stars, the light pollution as we are aware of, hides most of them from our sight. I wanted to attract the attention to just not possible future DePaul students, but to also be an attraction to the city. I choose a constellation, with the most stars I could find, for the majors. i figure each star could be an light, and of course they would turn on during the night, giving off a soft glow. Then during the day, the tiny stars could be pieces of glass. The glass would reflect the natural light of the day, drawing attention of the eyes. Then the "DePaul University" could have EL wire lights weave through the type, to give off the nice DePaul blue.
