DePaul CDM AD | Chris S

I think DePaul has a lot of potential to really stand out as a college. Specially since DePaul University is a well recognized school. Before coming here, I checked out the website and took a tour of the school and received plenty of flyers, brochures and pamphlets. They all didn't really look like the school was a "design" school which was what I expected since I was a graphic design student target.

For this project, I think it would be clever if I came up with something, I have not seen. I think it'd be really cool if we had a huge sign that lights up, that said DePaul University, College of Computing and Digital Media. It'd be really really cool if the sign was something like heat sensitive and if at night, it slowly changed colors.

Something else would be to have some sort of frame on the roof of the building that casts a shadow on the wall. I've seen this before but I'm not sure exactly where I've seen it so I can't make reference to it. I think I saw a smaller example of this at Typeforce last year.

There's definitely many alternatives with this project besides going for the standard vinyl sign. Since CDM is right in the loop, we get a lot of people who walk by and see the school so having something memorable is important.

Another great idea I thought of was to simply have "College of Computing and Digital Media." and at the end of that, have a blinking | . Giving the title of the school some kind of technology feel.

I really like this SAIC ad. It's simple and has a excellent fact. I want to do more research on DePaul CDM and hopefully I can find something as good as SAIC's quote.

Since we don't have too many majors, I want to even include the majors on the ad. 

Next class I'm definitely going to bring in some samples.
