When looking up other College University Advertisements, here are a few that stood out to me. All four are very different design techniques and thats why i chose them.
#1 the words are more prominent than the picture. Its a strong statements that makes me curious to know to be Temple Made.
#2 I really really really like this one a lot because its very simple. The design is using something that is important to the city, such as this bridge, to create visual balance and curiosity.
#3 I chose this one because unlike the top two this is using great photography, along with one sharp word to get their message across. To me seeing "trailblazer" with this man in the back has a very powerful message.
#4 I chose because it has a more deconstructive aspect. The people are blurred in the background with the hand in focus. Although this is not an advertisement to apply for this school, it is advertising for people to apply for this club, which i think has a very powerful message.
Here is the creative web my group made in class.
I have a few ideas for the new advertisement.
1) I want to create a vector image of St. Vinny himself, and turn him into a computer nerd. I want him to exemplify all the qualities of a CDM student, to show how diverse range of students are from ethnicity to majors.
2) i want to again use a picture of St. Vinny, take all the color out so its black and white. Then coming out if his brain would be all these ideas that go through the brain of CDM students. Sort of like the brain maps people see when they are trying to figure out if they are left brained or right brained.
I think DePaul's new advertising is fresh, and very interesting. Although it has nothing to do with CDM specifically i think its great advertising for the school as a whole.
