depaul ad crit 2-hall
For this project I wanted to incorporate people and images into a cohesive design. My idea was to
have a tornado with icons that represented the different majors at DePaul.
When I first did this I was having trouble making certain images fit into a cohesive flowing design.
I decided to take away the element of having a tornado coming from the eye of a person and instead
used an eye of a tornado as my main image and background. I then incorporated several icons that I
felt represented different aspects of CDM in a variety of ways. I used a spiral design to go with the
flow of the inner tornado gradually increasing the size of each icon so that it seems as if they are
getting bigger as a way to represent either the more popular majors or what the person in the center is
more interested in.
I wanted my design to be more exciting but some of the elements weren't quite right and I also feel
that the audience needs to be taken into consideration. The icons are large enough to be seen and
understood by a variety of people of all ages and the logo on the side adds a flare of style but also lets
people know that this is an add for DePaul.
This image is about 40x60 inches with the capacity to be made larger and when called the printing
company said they would print this for about $4700.
